Get up close and personal with some of Australia's favourite mini-beasts!

In Bugs Alive! children have access to real microscopes and other equipment, while having the opportunity to interact with som amazing live insects and arachnids.
We can even arrange for your service to care for a mini-beast of your very own after we're gone.
Program Details:
Run time 1hr15min
Experience activities:

-Together we learn all about bugs and insects, from invertebrates to arachnids. Children will learn about the bugs and insects we can find in our backyards, as well as learning about camouflage and the other ways bugs and insects protect themselves.

-Next kids will get to use microscopes to further explore bugs and insects. Children are encouraged to take notes, make drawings of what they find, and hypothesize what specimen they're looking at.

-Together we go over all the slides on the microscopes and discuss what we think they were, and the various functions of those body parts.

-In this last activity kids will get to get up close and handle some great mini beasts. From handling Australian Leaf insects, to glowing Flinders ranges scorpions, children can observe these invertebrates up close and explore some of their functions.

All cleaning up is done by Little Labs, and plastic table covers are supplied when required.
Protective equipment like lab coats are provided however it should be noted there is always a chance some clothing may get dirty (it’s best not to wear that Gucci top, sorry!)
Little Labs will arrive approx. 15 minutes early to set up, and we ask for 15 minutes after the session has ended to pack up.
