The world of the microscopic will come to life as children use both classical and digital microscopes to explore the world around them. Children are encouraged to be active investigators, choosing what to explore and discover.
From everyday objects, to invisible life, this experience is the bees knees (We've got those too).

Experience Activities

-Children learn all about what microscopes are, how they work, and what we use them for.

-We'll then take a look at some of the invisible things hidden around us using digital microscopes. Children can freely explore the space around them, seeing it in a completely new light.
-Next kids will get to use compound microscopes to further explore the world of the microscopic, with a range of specimens to view and discover.

-Discovery worksheets are used so kids can draw and record what they find to hypothesize, and identify the specimens.
Framework Learning outcomes:
-
2.1 Children develop a sense of belonging to groups and communities and an understanding of the reciprocal rights and responsibilities necessary for active community participation.
-
2.4 Children become socially responsible and show respect for the environment.
-
4.3 Children transfer and adapt what they have learned from one context to another.
-
4.4 Children resource their own learning through connecting with people, place, technologies and natural and processed materials.
All cleaning up is done by Little Labs, and plastic table covers are supplied when required.
Protective equipment like lab coats are provided however it should be noted there is always a chance some clothing may get dirty (it’s best not to wear that Gucci top, sorry!)
Little Labs will arrive approx. 15 minutes early to set up, and we ask for 15 minutes after the session has ended to pack up.
