Experience activities:

-First up children learn about the basic concepts behind chemistry, including atoms and molecules. We discuss how these make up the world around us, and ways in which they can react with each other.
-Using beakers and pipettes, children will create a variety of chemical reactions. Some of these reactions will be used for activities such as blowing up balloons etc.
-Children will then see how cabbage changes colour to indicate how acidic something is. Children will explore how different substances turn the cabbage blue or red and everything in between.
-Finally, we create a non-Newtonian fluid. This simple to make slime has unique properties that allow it to act as both a liquid and a solid and children will explore how different actions make the slime behave differently.

All cleaning up is done by Little Labs, and plastic table covers are supplied when required.
Protective equipment like lab coats are provided however it should be noted there is always a chance some clothing may get dirty (it’s best not to wear that Gucci top, sorry!)
Little Labs will arrive approx. 15 minutes early to set up, and we ask for 15 minutes after the session has ended to pack up.
